Sadredin, What my sister attempted to say is that the American People fail to understand the true horrors of War when it's conducted on home soil. To say that Americans have never experienced war is obviously false(WW1-2,Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, etc.) but the American People have never experienced war to the extend that other countries have on home soil. Surely, you can't classify one terrorist attack as "War" on home soil. That's a bit of a stretch. American Soldiers have experienced war many times throughout the years but the average American in the United States has only experienced War in the images and videos on television and the internet. When a soldier holds a knife to your mothers throat and you beg him not to kill her, that is War. How many Americans have experienced that?
As far as other nations asking The United States for help, this has been true only in some instances. You don't seem to understand the concept of "Images" and "Delusion". When you see Iraqis pulling down Saddam's statue and celebrating, it's what we like to call a set up(for the cameras). It's not reality. If we conducted a survey after the invasion on whether the Iraqis want us there or not, I'd assure you that the answer would be not. I'm glad you brought up the Balkans because this reminds me of the NATO soldiers in Srebrenica that allowed the Serbian military to butcher 8,000 Muslim man and boys in what is today known as the "Srebrenica Massacre". I am not trying to place the blame on the American due to the fact that the majority of the soldiers were dutch but it gives some sense of foreign involvement in the former Yugoslavian wars. For instance, most people in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina received their aid, be it weapons or food, from countries such as Germany, Hungary, Austria, etc. and not the United States. The only time the Americans had significant impact in Balkan relations is when they bombed Serbia in 1999 to help out Kosovo.

But this article falsely portrays the American military and fighting men and why the majority of American people support them."
I feel as though I had to quote this because It's simply false. Let's get one thing straight, Americans don't go to other countries to fight for their freedom, but America's own interest. This has always been the case. Iraq-Iran is just one example where the Americans funded both sides in order to help them kill each other for the benefit of the Americans. Or how about the many dictators America put in place in central/south America? Or how about supporting the Taliban against the Soviets despite the fact that you knew what the Taliban represented and what they would do to the people of Afghanistan. America cares only for America(and perhaps Israel). Our government would be more than happy to leave a dictator in charge as long as they please our government, regardless of how the people trapped. In fact, if the American government really wanted to help people, they ought to look at helping Chechnya(in Russia), Kurdistan(Turkey-Iraq), Palestine(Israel), Tibet(China), North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and so on.
Honestly, if the American government wanted to help the Iraqis, why did they not remove Saddam from power during the Gulf War? They won the war, they had the power, the people turned against Saddam and what did America do? Leave him in power.

First of all, I'd like you to provide me proof of this. Last I checked, there were huge celebrations all over Iraq by American Soldiers when Obama won. I would not be surprised if this were true though. You'll find that most Conservative Republicans are more likely to join the military than Liberal Democrats. That's why John McCain's slogan was "Country First" and Barack Obama's was "Change we need".
Sometimes you just have to fix your domestic problems before you go overseas and attempt to tell people how to live their lives or run their country. And if you are going to invade a country, such as Iraq, you better do your homework first. It's a bit pathetic when some of our biggest politicians don't know the difference between Shia and Sunni, you know?

I wonder what American people know?
Not much really. Only good thing they did is choose a Obama for president. That part makes me happy, and it shows that American people at last are smart when comes to choices i guess.
Anyways, there been a lot people thinking that know what is war. I am sure that none of you really know what is war. People who think that , maybe imagining that going to other countries and fight is so called war. But i tell you that is so wrong idea of war, because war is not something you go to, but something you get in your own house.
You think that you have all powerful weapons and that you have right to kill others just because you think it's right thing to do. Guess what it's wrong , war is far more deep then you all think. I ll tell you what is war, then you will realize that you don't know anything about it.
War is when somebody comes in your house and kills your son/daughter, mother/ father infront of your eyes. The thing about it is that you can't do anything about it really cuz even if you try they will wanna kill you.
Maybe even somebody rapes you or somebody close to you then what you gonna do? when you can't run to some place safe, because everywhere you go is same situation, and there is no escape.
I tell you you all people who are for war don't know is how to lose homes, where is no safety possible. You all call war going to defend other peoples home. Why? they did not call you at all, they know what people are over them, and they lived like that for years, why would you think, that just because you have weapons that you can safe them? No you can't only thing in all that you can do is spend all money, and leave American people jobless, like is happening.
