I know I'm gonna get alot of s***for this post, but here it goes. Just today, I watched a video on Youtube titled Socialism vs. Capitalism. It was very interesting. In America today, we tend to confuse Socialism with Soviet style communism and believe that under a socialist economy, tyranny will reign. But we need to open up our minds and start to think about what will be better for America. Maybe what we need is a redistribution of the wealth so that Bottom Up economics will replace Trickle Down economics. Now i'm not advocating complete socialism but an even more "mixed economy."  Capitalism favors the rich and the corporate elite and leaves the less fortunate behind. I remember seeing a bumper sticker that said "Free market does not mean lawless Capitalism." I think that is the mindset that America needs. 

Sean Hannity is a typical conservative. Talks tough and then backs out. He said he would be waterboarded because he thinks it is not torture.

If you say you will do something, DO IT. He said he would be waterboarded for charity and for the troops families. These are the people who keep us safe. Sean Hannity is a f***ing hypocrite.

I know I should have done this first, but here are my main (out of many) problems that I have with conservatives.

• Abortion- Personally I am pro-choice. Not Pro abortion. Nobody is pro abortion. I never bring my faith into my political views. I believe that a woman's right to choose is one that should be available, but it should never be the first choice. My theory is if you aren't for abortion, DON'T HAVE ONE. I believe in the Roe v. Wade ruling and support all women who make such a tough decision. Conservatives try to label pro choice supporters as baby killers. But here's my comeback: If that baby you save is gay, will you support it's right then? That's the difference...Liberals will.
• Rights for Gays- I, with all my being, support equal rights for gays and am proud of my state of Iowa in ruling that the ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional. I am straight myself, but that doesn't make a difference in my opinions. Conservatives try to say that gay marriage is not moral and supporters will go to hell. JUST BECAUSE YOU GO TO CHURCH DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE MORALS. I support a constitutional amendment ruling that gay marriage is legal across the US, but do not see that coming. Now for the 'Dont Ask, Dont Tell' Policy, I believe it is BS. If someone wants to serve our country and lay their life on the line for us, you tell me that you're going to deny them because of their sexual orientation? Conservatives are so close minded its not even funny.
• Taxes- I have and always will be a big critic of conservative ideology on taxes. CUT TAXES FOR THE RICH? WTF? Most of the very wealthy people in this nation have earned their income by playing the stock market. I applaud them for their success. But they only pay 10 percent on their stock earnings. I theory is if you have more money you should pay a bigger percent of your income than that the middle class. It is crazy how much money some people have. The bush tax cuts proved to be very hurtful to our country and I applaud President Obama for closing loopholes in our tax system.

• Finally the main thing that seperates my beliefs from those of conservatives are the general welfare of our nation. Conservatives preach that big government is evil and leads to our downturn, but they are hypocrites. They want no government inteference or help in their lifes, but they like their social security now don't they. Conservatives believe that we are responsible for only ourselves, but me being the Liberal that I am, care about the welfare of EVERY American. We should help the poor out and provide oppurtunies for every american regardless of race, sex, faith, sexual orientation, etc.

First, concerning what to do with the gitmo prisoners, here is my take. I am all for bring the detainees currently located at Guantanamo into maximum security prisons in the US. Conservatives, like Dick Cheney and other right wing nuts, say doing so will threaten our national security. How?!? Some of these prisoners, have not killed people and may be convicted of a crime they did not commit. But here in the US, we have serial killers, rapists, etc. in our prisons and i dont see them threatening our national security. I'm am willing to bring prisoners into Iowa. Go right ahead. 

As for the Nancy Pelosi, Republicans are rying to get Nancy Pelosi to resign for alledgedly knowing about the torture tactics in 2002 and not saying anything. Then she claims the CIA lied to her in a secret briefing. I actually believe her. Republicans are so stuck on their BS belief that if they don't like somebody or think somebody did something wrong, they should resign, be impeached, etc. This tactic, by republicans is an effort to shy us away from the real issue, the torture tactics that were used by the Bush admin. These tactics are ILLEGAL. But Mr. Cheney and other right wing nutjobs say they prevented a number of attacks on American. WHEN AND WHERE?!?! Cheney wants President Obama to release the information on such plots that were foiled, but why cant cheney himself do it? Where is the evidence Dick?? i actually applaud President Bush for going away and hiding after his term was over and i wish cheney would do the same d*** thing.
