Stimulus my A$$!
OFFLINE
Here is an email I received.. It sums the state of things perfectly. As far as I can check for now all the information is correct. Still think Obama and Nancy Pelosi were the right choice? ROFL

> Thank heaven for the Democrats. Had it not been for them, I
wouldn't have learned that broadband and wireless Internet were
God-given rights.
> Yeah, and after-school snacks and contraceptives and those digital TV converter boxes, too. They're all part of President Obama's so-called economic stimulus package, the one he promised would be devoid of earmarks. I guess that depends on your definition of pork..
>
> It spends $20 billion in additional money for the Food Stamp program.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says food stamps
will stimulate the economy more than tax cuts. Now you know why we're
doomed. She actually believes that the government buying groceries with
your money is better than you buying groceries with your money. "It's
about jobs, tax cuts and accountability," she said of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
>
Don't you love that name? Well, it's about jobs, all right. It's about
jobs created by the federal government; and so-called "green jobs" at
that. It doesn't matter if these jobs aren't really needed. Obama and
Pelosi are smarter than all of the economists who say make-work plans
dreamt up by the government won't work.
> The tax cuts she refers
to are just for the middle class, by the way. Forget those who pay 60
percent of the income taxes - the top 5 percent of wage-earners,
according to the IRS. They get no relief whatsoever.
> Oh, and her claim that this bill is about
accountability. You be the judge. Here are some highlights:
>
* $726 million for an after school snack program. Since when did it
become the federal government's job to buy a kid a bag of Cheetos?
>
* $8.2 billion to bring broadband and wireless to un-served areas. How
can we expect these people to use satellite Internet or dial-up? What
> * $650 million for more of those coupons for people to buy a $40 converter box for their analog TVs.
Technology changes, people. Change with it or buy your own converter
box. I wonder if they'll give me a rebate on my old 8-track?
>
> And here's the one I love.
>
* $52.4 billion for carbon capture and sequestration demonstration
projects. This is where they suck CO2 out of the air and pump it
underground.
> I'm not allotted enough column space to tell you all the insanity in this bill.
> For those of you who are now starting to recognize that the whole global warming
issue is a farce, you still may wonder what it would hurt to take
measures to fight it. This bill spends, at a minimum, $537 billion to
fight this phantom called global warming.
> Al Gore fought sleet and freezing rain to testify before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
this past week, stating that even if we halt greenhouse emissions now,
we could experience a rise in temperatures by up to 7.5 degrees that
"would bring a screeching halt to human civilization and threaten life
everywhere on Earth, and this is by the end of this century."
Dun-dun-dun! This, in the midst of record cold temperatures and record
snowfall.
> Dr. David Gee of the University of Uppsala in Sweden,
a renowned scientist who has authored 130 peer-reviewed papers, asks a
simple question. "For how many years must the planet cool before we
begin to understand that the planet is not warming?"
> Of course, he's correct. We've been cooling since 1998 yet the Branch
Algorians trudge forward, waist-deep (and that aint snow), as the vacuous vanguard of the "New America" follows closely behind.
>
Not one of these people can give me a single concrete link between what
mankind is doing and any kind of temperature change, yet people like Sen. Bob Corker lap this stuff up. Corker is actually pushing a carbon tax!
> This seems to be the problem. Many of the folks we sent to Washington to fight all this lunacy is now in league with the very people who are in the process of looting our country.
> If you ever saw Disney's animated film The Lion King, understand this: Scar and the hyenas have now taken over Pride Rock.

Some quotes to think about
OFFLINE

John Kennedy once said
to a assembled group of scholars in the White
House
,  "I think this is the most extraordinary
collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered
at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas
Jefferson dined alone."

 The quotes below could
prove his point.

....

When
we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we
shall become as corrupt as Europe

Thomas
Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you
take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who
would not.

Thomas
Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay
its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save
one-half the wars of the world.

Thomas
Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans
if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the
people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Thomas
Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that
most bad government results from too much government.

Thomas
Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use
of arms.

Thomas
Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to
retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to
protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Thomas
Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Thomas
Jefferson

 Very Interesting Quote:

In light of the present financial crisis, it's  interesting to
read what Thomas Jefferson said in
1802:

Banking institutions  are more dangerous to our
liberties than standing armies. If the
American people ever allow private banks to
control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by
deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the
banks will deprive the people of all property until their children
wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered..

Doesn't this sound eerily familiar to what
is happening in
America  today?

March on Washington July 4!

..
I'm not an organizer.

I'm not big on protest rallies.

I'm not even persuaded that real, meaningful, long-lasting
national policy change can come from influencing our elected leaders in
Washington.
However, I think it's time for a march on Washington to galvanize forces who don't want to see America destroyed by socialism.

That time is July 4, 2009.

Judging from the anger and frustration I am sensing in this
country right now, I have no doubts such a march could bring 1 million
people to the nation's capital.
People are mad. They are fuming. There is widespread righteous
indignation across this country, and someone or something needs to
channel it constructively and positively in a major show of force.
The tea parties are spreading from coast to coast. That's
encouraging. But most of them are getting little or no media attention.
Most Americans are not even aware of them – before or after they take
place.
They should continue and build.

But it's time to make some real noise. It's time for some major fireworks. And what better venue than Barack Obama's playground?

Too many courageous Americans have given their all – their
lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor – to bestow upon this
nation a heritage of liberty unknown anywhere else in the world.
Get Farah's prescription for what ails the nation – "Taking America Back: A Radical Plan to Revive Freedom" – autographed!

Are we really ready to see it be taken from us – and from our children and grandchildren?

Are we willing to stand by while the biggest power grab in the history of the world takes place before our very eyes?

Are we all just too busy to make the smallest sacrifice of our time and energy and passion for that which God blessed has blessed this nation?

I don't think so.

I think the American people are ready to stand up and be counted.

The time has never been more right.

It's time to take America back.

It's time for a show of force.

It's time for Washington to understand we're not going to take it any more – not lying down anyway.

Is there not some organization or group willing to take the lead?

Is there any doubt that all the freedom-loving talk-show hosts in America will get behind such a call to action?

Will we be defeated without even putting up a fight or a visible protest?

Is that a legacy with which you are willing to live the rest of your life?

Or will you join me in getting up off our rear ends and filling the streets of Washington July 4?

Our forefathers fought for independence. That is the gift we
supposedly celebrate and commemorate every July 4. It's time for a new
declaration of independence. We don't need a new document· The old one
is just fine. But we need to raise our voices and demonstrate that some
of us – many of us – still support self-government, our founding documents and want no part of command-and-control, top-down tyranny.

We don't want it from foreign shores – and we sure don't want it from Washington.

I can't do it alone.

But if you support this idea, start spreading the word.

See how your friends react. Network
with organizations to which you belong or support with your membership
fees. Let's start building a coalition of groups and individuals who
have something to lose if we don't stop the theft, the handouts, the
giveaways and, most of all, the take-aways that always come with
government power grabs.
Think about this.

Pray about this.

See if this call to action agrees with your spirit.

I think it's right. But I don't know if the rightness of our
cause will be strong enough if we don't act soon. I think it's time.
And I don't think we have much more time to lose.
I look forward to your thoughts.

A Vision of the Future
OFFLINE
And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity that the people of the land called America , having lost their morals, their initiative, and their will to defend their liberties, chose as their Supreme Leader that person known as The One. He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no meaning; but He hypnotized the people telling them, "I am sent to save you. My lack of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego, and my association with evil doers are of no consequence. For I shall save you with Hope and Change. Go , therefore, and proclaim throughout the land that he who preceded me is evil, that he has defiled the nation, and that all he has built must be destroyed."

And the people rejoiced. For even though they knew not what The One would do, He had promised that it was good; and they believed..

And The One said "We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change everything about it!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah!! Change is good!"

Then He said, "We are going to tax the rich fat-cats,"----

And the people said "Sock it to them!"

"---- And redistribute their wealth."

And the people said, "Show us the money!"

And then He said, "Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody"

And Joe the plumber asked, "Are you kidding me? You're going to steal my money and give it to the deadbeats??"

And The One ridiculed and taunted him, and Joe's personal records were hacked and publicized.

One lone reporter asked, "Isn't that Marxist policy?"

And she was banished from the kingdom!

Then a citizen asked, "With no foreign relations experience and having zero military experience or knowledge, how will you deal with radical terrorists?"

And The One said, "Simple. I shall sit with them and talk with them and show them how nice we really are; and they will forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah!! We are safe at last, and we can beat our weapons into free cars for the people!"

Then The One said, "I shall give 95% of you lower taxes."

And one, lone voice said, "But 40% of us don't pay ANY taxes."

So The One said, "Then I shall give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah!! Show us the money!"

Then The One said, "I shall tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!"

And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.

And He said, "I shall mandate employer-funded health care for EVERY worker and raise the minimum wage. And I shall give every person unlimited health care and medicine and transportation to the clinics."

And the people said, "Gim'me some of that!"

Then He said, "I shall penalize employers who ship jobs overseas."

And the people said, "Where's my rebate check?"

Then The One said, "I shall bankrupt the coal industry and electricity rates will skyrocket!"

And the people said, "Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don't care for that part about higher electric rates."

So The One said, "Not to worry. If your rebate isn't enough to cover your expenses, we shall bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles are over!"

Then He said, "Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let's grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bilingual signs and guaranteed housing..."

And the people said, "Hallelujah!!" And they made him King!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business and the economy sank like unto a rock dropped from a cliff. The banking industry was destroyed. Manufacturing slowed to a crawl. And more of the people were without a means of support.

Then The One said, "I am the The One - The Messiah - and I'm here to save you! We shall just print more money so everyone will have enough!"

But our foreign trading partners said unto Him, "Wait a minute. Your dollar is not worth a pile of camel dung! You will have to pay more..."

And the people said, "Wait a minute. That is unfair!!"

And the world said, "Neither are these other idiotic programs you have embraced. Lo, you have become a Socialist State and a second-rate power. Now you shall play by our rules!"

And the people cried out, "Alas, alas!! What have we done?"

But yea verily, it was too late. The people set upon The One and spat upon him and stoned him, and his name was dung. And the once mighty nation was no more; and the once proud people were without sustenance or shelter or hope. And the Change The One had given them was as like unto a poison that had destroyed them and like a whirlwind that consumed all that they had built.

And the people beat their chests in despair and cried out in anguish, "Give us back our nation and our pride and our hope!!"

But it was too late, and their homeland was no more.

Some Harsh Facts about B.O.
OFFLINE

From Michael Steele of the RNC. Some harsh facts concerning Barrack Hussein Obama.

"Recently in his speech in France, Barack Obama called America "arrogant." 1 I'm sure the French loved it -- And so did the liberal press.

But who is this president who calls the American people arrogant?

This is the same politician whose supporters anointed him "The One" and a candidate who boasted that his election would be remembered as "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." 2

This is the same man who indicated his disdain for small town and working Americans when he said they "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them," while addressing a group of San Francisco caviar and champagne liberal elitists.

How arrogant is that? Arrogant enough?

In truth, President Obama seems to champion the twisted "Blame-America First" mentality of the worst of the American left.

More importantly, it shows an absence of wisdom to criticize the United States while on foreign soil, and then join with the Pelosi-Reid Democrats in Congress to do everything possible to end American exceptionalism and create a weak, dependent socialist state patterned after the examples of Europe.

He has taken steps towards nationalizing American auto companies; firing executives while leaving in power the same Union Bosses who funded his campaign and helped cripple the U.S.'s manufacturing base.

He has refused to let financial firms pay back taxpayer-funded bailout loans 3 so he can make them hostages to the whims of the Federal government.

As a lawyer, Obama once sued the same financial institutions on behalf of radical groups like ACORN for failing to use leftist social engineering criteria for lending instead of an applicant's ability to repay a loan.

He campaigned on "transparency" and "integrity" in government and then has nominated a rogue gallery of tax evaders, Washington bureaucrats, and lobbyists to run his Administration.

Obama brazenly follows his chief of staff's maxim of "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste...This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before" 4 to cripple our free markets with massive taxation and spending that wrests away our freedoms and puts even our great-grandchildren in debt.

And now, anyone who dares speak out against or challenge Obama's ultra-liberal agenda, such as the hundreds of thousands of patriots who attended last week's Tea Parties, should expect to be labeled "unhealthy" by this Adminstration. 5 Now, THAT is arrogance!

You know that Barack Obama's hubris and charisma conceal the inexperience and lack of wisdom that our country cannot afford in its president.

And though the teleprompter and mainstream media liberals may delay America's realization of the peril the Obama White House portends for our future for a while, the eventual failure of leftist policies and ineffective leadership will not.

We must be ready when that time comes."

Remember, the men who founded this country were considered rebels and "extremists".

1 "[A]rrogant." (President Barack Obama, Town Hall, Strasbourg, France, 4/3/09)

2"[T]he moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks After The Democrat Primary, St. Paul, MN, 6/3/08)

3"[R]efused to let financial firms pay back taxpayer-funded bailout loans..." (Stuart Varney, "Obama Wants To Control The Banks," The Wall Street Journal, 4/4/09)

4"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste...This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before." (Gerald F. Seib, "In Crisis, Opportunity For Obama," The Wall Street Journal, 11/21/08)

5"I think any time you have severe economic conditions there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that's unhealthy," (David Axelrod, "Face the Nation" 4/19/09)

Letter to the President
OFFLINE
Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States . You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States ? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You don’t show Great Britain , our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia . How dare you, sir! How dare you!

You can’t find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don’t want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey . You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What’s the matter with you?

I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you.

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members – on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven’t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million – not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities.

I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get re-elected for a second term by getting every American I can to remember what it's like to think for themselves and let logic takes it's course.

Sincerely,

Benjamin F. Hall
