A sarcastic look at socialism. I try to look at every aspect of socialism; its highs and lows. Mostly how it works.
Socialism pt.2
OFFLINE

We look at capitalism today and see its faults. We see how terrible it can be and how it can cause massive destruction to the economy like it did in the 1930s with the Great Depression; this evil free market system that destroys lives, families and health. Capitalism at its finest is Darwin’s theory of Natural Selection, survival of the fittest. The average person can’t survive in the free market. You have to have some kind of special skill to actually make enough money to survive or even support a family.

So most people who are average look towards socialism to solve their problems, they vote for the Democrat who says he will help the middle class American, give him health care, insure benefits, and make sure they can pay all of their bills. This is great, is it not?

Like I said in part one, the government may take all of your income but it gives you back all of the things you need. See in this socialist market the government doesn’t just get its foot wet, it jumps in and yells, “You’re it!” The government looks at the seller and says, “You’re going to sell your product at this price.” That’s good, now everyone who needs that product can afford to buy it. We look at socialism as this giant overpowering federalist government that dominates everything and doesn’t let anyone do anything without any consent, but it’s not. It is just a caring government that wants everyone to be equal and to survive.

See, in socialism the government controls all means of production, creating standards for everyone that will benefit everyone. So if the government controls your income and how your money is used it only makes sense that it also controls what you buy.

Take meat for example, not everyone eats meat but most do. Those who need meat to eat have to buy it from somewhere. Now in a capitalist, or free market, economy the corporation owners will control how much of the meat they will produce, and at what price they will sell it for. They look at the demand and determine how much they need to supply, simple economics. Well not everyone can afford the meat at the price they are selling it and maybe more people end up demanding more then what was projected. So now not everyone will be able to get the meat they need. In a Socialist economy, the government controls this. It knows how much they need for each person because they control their job; they also control the price because they know everyone’s income so they know at what price it needs to be sold; thus eliminating the idea of anyone going hungry.

Now on that, I want to point out something else. The government totally controls these businesses now so they control how it is run too. So some CEO can’t just fire their own workers or hire their own either and they can’t buy their own supplies. The government buys their supplies, gives them employees based on someone’s skill and gives everyone a fair wage.

Doesn’t this sound great? We destroy minimum wage because everyone is paid the same. We better working conditions, put people in the right job based on their skill and eliminate greed. Haven’t you ever looked at professional athletes and thought, “That’s just not right, what are they doing to better society?” They aren’t! They are just there to show off and make millions off of entertaining people. That’s not right. You’re working so hard day by day to pay the bills and these guys run around with a ball and make millions. Wait a second, how does doing that help anything? Well, it doesn’t. So why not put everyone into a job they are skilled at and not have them worrying about when they are going to be able to pay their bills? If you ask me, it sounds like one pretty good utopia.

Socialism pt.1
OFFLINE

We’ve heard a lot about socialism and communism, if you lived in a conservative home then you heard why it’s bad. Most people just go along with life thinking, “I love capitalism” “It’s the greatest system” “Socialism doesn’t work, it’s the modern communism,” and so forth. But most people don’t exactly like to look into things and find for themselves exactly why they don’t like it. They really just go off of what they hear and what they’ve been taught.

Ancient Greek philosophy talks about how people live accidental lives. It says that people just go on with what the world and their society tell them to think and how to act. But to really have your own mind set and to think your own way, you have to study the world and find out on your own why you do agree or disagree with something and not just go off of what you’re told.

Well, if you are before a thousand people and ask what will happen if you let go of the pen in your hand, and they say it will float; does it mean it is true? You can, either, walk away and say, “OK, it will float,” or you can drop the pen and see what happens.

Most people will take the world’s word for anything, but is that a good thing to do? I was listening to Glenn Beck the other day and he had a woman over the phone telling a story about how she was telling these two girls in line at the bank how the new HR3200 will not give Americans free health care but will make us pay more taxes which is making us pay for our own health care; and these girls respond saying, “Well, that’s not what I heard on the news.” They completely took what the news anchor said and didn’t bother to research the topic to find out for themselves what exactly it will do.

So, back on to socialism. Why do we believe what we hear about how capitalism is best and socialism is bad? I believe it is mostly because our parents remember the Cold War and how we politically fought for almost fifty years against communism and the spread of socialist ideas; or maybe you lived through it, or were in the military and remember it from first hand basis.

I know some people in America do believe that socialism is great and believe it will work for the nation, heal all of our problems, or whatever. I saw the movie “Capitalism: A Love Story”, I know what he was emphasizing. We’ve heard a lot about how President Obama is a socialist himself. I’ve never heard him say that, but whatever, think what you want. So why is it so ‘bad’?

I’ve read some stuff on Marxism and I’ve also read the Constitution of the USSR. After that, I really did start thinking about it. Why is this so bad? It gives everyone what they need, yes there’s a 90% income tax but who cares the government is giving you your necessities. You have some money to spend on luxuries, but with a better trade you will have more of that ten percent. Marxism states, “A man takes two hours to make a pair of pants, and another man takes three hours to make a pair of shoes. Therefore, the shoes will cost more than the pants.” Yeah, that makes sense. If you take six hours to fix a family’s plumbing and the gardener only takes three hours to mow and clean the flower beds, you should get twice the pay that the gardener gets. Make sense yet?

So in this world of socialism, we have a huge tax rate but the government supplies everything we need. This is pulling everyone out of poverty, destroying classes, getting rid of corrupted CEOs, stopping greedy insurance companies and so on. The Constitution of the USSR says, “Developed socialist society is a natural, logical stage on the road to communism” So it’s saying that once this socialism is enforced, it will take time, but will be logical, to keep going on this road to communism creating an entire classless society.

So wouldn’t it be nice to live in this wonderful Utopia that has no poverty, no famine, no beggars, and no foreclosures? Well, yeah it would be nice, and this is what socialism is supposed to do, help out everyone. Don’t you have a heart? Don’t you want poorness to go away? I sure do, socialism sounds pretty good doesn’t? No recession, no struggling for your next dollar, no worrying about pissing off your jerk boss because he might not be so lenient on your bonus in the next pay check. This does seem to solve our problems. Socialism sounds pretty good doesn’t it? “No...No, not for me,” you may be thinking. Well just wait until the next one, might change your mind on that.
