In a capitalist society there is very little time to consider how the concept of time itself affects our lives. "Time is money," so the only thing to consider is how to save it. Nevertheless, time is a deep concept that can be defined in numerous ways. Time can be relative, progressive, or even cyclical. Time can be measured by the movement and absorption of light, or the movement of metal rods on a clock, but it is also possible to get distracted and lose track of time. Thus, while time can be a major influence on the lives of human beings, it can be altered by the ones who are willing to ignore or it, or the few that are willing to stop it. In other words, time can be paused or shifted by our activities, which range from a picnic at a local park to or our participation in a major sociopolitical movement. Some of these leaders would agree that right after they were elected, they felt like time had stopped, and they were in control of their community’s destiny. This is the feeling that drives every candidate and every voter who is genuinely committed to helping others.
