fiscal irresponsibility (Constitution Party)
OFFLINE
I dont say that i necessarily agree with all of it, but i try to keep an open mind and what they have to say is kind of interesting...

Senator Conrad has said of his colleagues in Congress, "they know in large measure - the Republicans and Democrats - that we are on a course that does not add up". When asked why nothing is done Conrad stated, "it's so easy not to, to kick the can down the road, you know you get in trouble in politics when you make choices". That is what General Walker is referring to when he accuses Congress and the Executives the past 20 years of no leadership and hiding the truth.

The Big Dirty Secret
by Ken Lucier

Comptroller General David Walker on 60 Minutes, March 4 - as well as on his 'Wake up tour' across the nation - is exposing the dirty secret. While the media all but ignores it, he is revealing the most important single issue facing American citizens today.

General Walker - the nations' number one accountant - states in the strongest possible terms, "I would argue that the most serious threat to the United States is not someone hiding in a cave in Afghanistan, but our fiscal irresponsibility". What he is talking about is clearly the biggest threat to our national security in the history of our nation, and almost no one is paying attention. The media of all stripes are guilty, save perhaps Ed Schultz and 60 Minutes.

General Walker states, " the people of America are starved for two things: truth and leadership." He goes on, "the survival of the republic is at stake".

The present value of unfunded debt obligated under current legislative commitments to our children and grandchildren is over $60 trillion. This is $200,000 for every man woman and child (on top of the many trillions in burgeoning spending which actually have projected funding sources). Walker is not alone in recognizing the looming catastrophe. Economists accompanying him on his tour from the Heritage Foundation, the Brookings Institute, and the Concord Coalition are in agreement. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke also has validated his remarks. Senator Conrad, Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, agrees with Walkers projections. Conrad states about Walker, "he is providing an enormous public service". This writer has extensively researched this and has been saying much the same for months. Like Walker, he too is being ignored by the press.

General Walker puts it well, "We are mortgaging the futures of our children and grandchildren at record rates, and that is not only an issue of fiscal irresponsibility, it is an issue of morality".

The secret hides the severity and urgency of the problem. It has now reached the stage where it will require some radical solutions to save the nation from predictable certain economic collapse likely in the next 25 years or so. We are almost at the point of no return already. The monsters' jaws are opening over us and soon will close, and then it will be too late. Our own greed will have destroyed a great nation.

We have perverted a Constitutional Republic to a democracy, and - as has been said in many ways - it will only survive until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the public always votes for the candidates that promise the most benefits from the public treasury. This is what will cause the inevitable collapse; loose fiscal policy. It will likely be followed by a dictatorship or a communist form of government.

The radical solutions I suggest to save this nation are to immediately begin reducing our legal obligations to the entitlement programs in a significant way. Further, we must rescind the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act and return the power to coin money and control the value to the peoples representatives, instead of to unelected private bankers (who only exist to create money to loan to us and charge us interest on). Finally, we need to resolutely agree to refrain from increasing the National Debt ceiling another penny, and vow not to vote for anyone for national office that promises anything less. This will force the hard and vitally necessary choices and actions General Walker, Conrad and others acknowledge will be required to save this once great nation of ours from the trash heap of history.
